Kumar Sanam, MD, FACC, FSCAI, joined The Heart Group Cardiovascular Associates, Inc. in October 2024. Dr. Sanam is board certified in interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT and vascular medicine. He specializes in complex coronary interventions, including chronic total occlusion (CTO) procedures and valvular interventions. He regularly treats patients with peripheral arterial disease, and has extensive experience performing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR) and MitraClip procedures for mitral regurgitation. Dr. Sanam is also highly skilled in vascular care, including deep vein interventions.

With a fellowship in advanced heart failure therapies such as cardiac transplantation and left ventricular assist devices, Dr. Sanam brings a high level of skill and expertise to our practice. His contributions to advancing the practice of cardiology include serving as lead author and researcher in numerous internationally published research trials. He also actively participates in the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention (SCAI).

Dr. Sanam is married with two boys. His family likes to travel and play board games together. His favorite leisure activities include biking, hiking, taking pictures, and watching movies and sports. Dr. Sanam especially enjoys playing soccer and basketball with his sons.
