Dr. Japgroop Basraon (Dr. Roop) joined The Heart Group in 2015. Board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, Dr. Roop specializes in treating heart arrhythmias. He performed the Central Valley’s first FARAPULSE™ procedure in April 2024 and the first leadless pacemaker in September 2017. A Valley native, Dr. Roop graduated from Caruthers High School and Fresno State University before attending medical school and earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University College in Vallejo, California. A prolific researcher, Dr. Roop has published multiple manuscripts and abstracts and given a number of presentations. He is married with two young children, a boy and a girl. In his free time, he enjoys farming raisins and reading. Dr. Roop is fluent in three languages: English, Hindi and Punjabi.
