Raj S. Marok M.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I.
Dr Raj Marok is a Clovis native and a graduate of Buchanan high school (Go Bears!) and has returned with his family to the Central Valley.
A practicing and established structural Interventional Cardiologist with almost 10 years of experience, Dr Marok brings with him a wealth of enthusiasm, experience and knowledge in a new phase of his professional career. He trained at the prestigious Columbia University and hospitals of the New York Presbyterian system in NY, NY. Recently, he served as Medical Director of the Structural Heart Disease program and co-Director of the complex PCI and CTO program and practiced at a large quarternary referral heart/lung transplant center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dr Marok has a deep clinical and research interest in stroke prevention in Atrial Fibrillation patients and the WATCHMAN left atrial appendage closure procedure. He performed the world’s first WATCHMAN FLX Pro implant as part of a FDA approval study in an animal model for Boston Scientific and performed the first in human implant in the state of Michigan. He has been principal investigator and sub investigator on numerous clinical trials.
He has a keen interest in Transcatheter valve technologies including TAVR. His research interest focuses on anti-calcification technologies that will help focus on durability and lifetime management of aortic valve disease.
Dr Marok believes in a patient-centered approach to care with shared and informed decision-making at all times. He views caregiving as a deeply interpersonal relationship between the patient and provider that is driven by a foundation of knowledge, empathy, and moral responsibility.
Dr Marok and his wife have three young boys and enjoys fishing, playing basketball, racquetball and soccer. He has a passion for automotive engineering and design.
